Summary: Gail and Mark were great hosts. Loved the peace and quiet, birds, views, layout of the villa. Dove for a second time with Sean Robinson at Tobago Dive Experience. Excellent “surf and turb” combo.

Summary: Our family of 5 stayed here for a week. It was a great place between Charlotville and Speyside. Our host, Mark, was knowledgeable and friendly. The place was gorgeous, overlooking Charlotteville and Manowar Bay, with amazing views and lots of wildlife to see. We would definitely stay here again.

Summary: We were so impressed with the property and its stunning views and bird life. We were also touched by the warm welcome of our host Mark who gave us local information on our arrival about the loveliest beaches and local walks. We spent most of our time on the verandah just looking out! Everything worked in the apartment and it was thoughtfully furnished with much of Mark's expert handiwork. We didn't want to leave.....

Summary: The Lookout provides an open vista across the rainforest over to the bay of Charlottville. Rainforest trails lead from the property while Charlottville with its ATM, mini-mart and fish market, is a short 5 min. drive down the hill. A place of enormous tranquility with the songs of the local bird population, including the Mot Mot and the Oropondola accompanying the day. Mark and Gayle are wonderfully attentive hosts who gave us invaluable advice about where to eat (Suck Hole and Jemma's) and where to buy fresh bread (Yah Dees) through to the best reefs to see the beautiful French Angel Fish and Parrot Fish. This was a surprise holiday for my husband and an opportunity for all four of us, including our 12 and 11 year old sons, to relax. It did not disappoint. If you like to get away from the crowds, this is the place for you. Mark helpfully organised a guide and boat trip across to Little Tobago and also organised car hire so that we were picked up from the airport. We had nothing to worry about. The only thing that spoilt the quiet during our stay was the all-night beach party on Friday night - not sure whether there is anyone on the beach at 4am and the loud music must disturb all the residents - so it's not clear it's a feature that will last. We thoroughly recommend Tobago for its unspoilt beaches and the north of the island for its peace and tranquillity. The Lookout at Charlottville is a beautiful property and we had both levels so could spread out and enjoy.

Summary: Gail & Mark were awesome hosts. They really went out of their way for us. Their place was very luxurious with 2 floors in the middle of the jungle but also only 5 minutes from the seaside village. Clean, honest, safe, Gorgeous views!! They guided us to a fantastic dive company and made our stay very comfortable. Highly recommended!!

Summary: Classic: the photos don't do it justice Best view on Tobago, very comfortable (big)villa with the friendliest Hosts and hostess. The Villa is a bit remote but this gives you the spectacular view/birds and quietness. Do rent a car and we will guarantee you have the best villa available on Tobago especially for the price. Summary: I don't think words could express the impression that the people and island left on our lives. It was wonderful!!! When I first signed up I had wonder what I was getting for the money if there were no maids, food servers or shopping....What we found was the most wonderful memory the one could ever have. Most people will only see these spectacular views on TV. We did live the dream! Our favorite part about the trip was the friendly people that made us feel welcome and to just enjoy ourselves. Do I need to mention the food, wind surfing, kayaking, the walks around the beautiful beaches, the crabs, lizards, birds and the wonderful view of the sunrise that got us up each morning? Breathtaking!!! Our kids got to experience the outdoor and the wonderful natural way of Tobago life. We booked directly through VRBO fast and direct response from the owner. Mark and Gail provided us with excellent service and made our stay at The Charlottesville Lookout pleasurable. We were a party of 5 (2 adults and 3 kids) (loud kids). And we didn't even have one hiccup or complaint. I would definitely stay at The Charlottesville Lookout again and also HIGHLY recommend this villa to anyone that visits Tobago.

Summary: My wife and I enjoyed a week of perfect vacation in the house of Gail and Mark in March 2015. Property is located in a quite and safe neighborhood within an easy 1.5 hour drive from the airport; driving on the left side is not that difficult. We could hear only parrots and remote surf around the house, no traffic and aircrafts . Parking is very convenient (a rare feature in the mountainous parts of Tobago). Flagstaff Hill Road runs amidst tropical forest and boasts spectacular views of the Pirate Bay and the panorama opening from the terrace is beyond description. House and premises including tropical gardens were meticulously maintained. Rooms in our apartment (upstairs) were tastefully furnished and very neat. Kitchen area was supplied with necessary appliances, all functional. WiFi worked quite well, especially bearing in mind tropical climate; there was gear for snorkeling, binocular for observation of birds and a good choice of literature about Tobago island. Surprisingly, we did not notice any mosquitoes. In the morning turkey-like birds made loud sounds that was actually nice. This was a rare case when we enjoyed staying in the house no less than spending time outdoors. A good swimming beach is ~5 min drive under the house, near a quite decent local restaurant. The famous Pirate Bay Beach is a 10 min walk (or a short swim over a coral reef) from the parking in the nearby village of Charlotteville. Fresh fish and fruits are sold in the front street. A system of nature trails begins across the road from the house. We would definitely highly recommend this vacation rental.

Summary: This house and its location is a real gem. It´s perfect for anyone who wants to enjoy nature, beautiful beaches, colorful birds and a relaxing time. The house itself is very well equipped, beautifully furnished and the views are to die for. Gail and Mark, the owners, are incredibly welcoming and helpful. During our stay we visited some different beaches but we liked Pirate´s bay and Englishman´s bay the best. Both of them were perfect for swimming and snorkeling. One day we took the car to the other end of the island to Pigeon Point, which was very nice because it gave us the opportunity to see the more touristic part of the island. After that visit it felt great to return to the tranquility of the Lookout and its surroundings. So if you are looking for a relaxing holiday in a wonderful climate away from the buzz, this is the place to go.
